As the first quarter has come to an end things have definitely started to pick up and get harder.I have really started to see the differences between 8th and 9th grade.Like I have said before, there are a lot more responsibilities in high school and also more freedoms. In high school, if a teacher tells you when a test is ahead of time, take that opportunity to study.Until you know what the tests are like in the particular class, assume they are challenging and you need all the time you can to study. In middle school, it seemed you could study for ten minutes and get a pretty good grade on your test. There is also a lot more expected of you like turning in all of your work, getting to class on time and being respectful of the people around you, including your teachers. If you have been gone and missed a day of school, whether you were sick or it was school sponsored, teachers expect you to check their website and come to them if you have questions. You don’t get any reminders to get your work in on time and you still have to do all the work for your other classes too. Being involved socially is really what makes high school fun.The football and soccer games help to get you through the week and it is fun to go hang out with your friends.Homecoming week was the best! All of the halls were decorated by grade and there was music playing throughout the school in the mornings and during passing periods. It was also a spirit week so people came to school looking completely ridiculous. The parade and bonfire were very fun also. The Friday before the dance was really just a free day.People were being dismissed to work on floats and then the rest of the school came outside to hang out and listen to the DJ. Having friends who can drive is very convenient as well as fun.The dance team usually goes out to eat before the games on Friday nights and instead of having my mom take me I can just ride with other team members. It is also fun because you get to hang out with friends whenever instead of having your parents take you around. Overall, high school is a ton of fun but it is also a lot more work. You have to keep up in class in order to have fun out of school.
